World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The upgrade feature for items allows players to boost the item level of equippable weapons or armor. This boosts the stats of the item and can also add buffs or rerolls on an affix.
It is important to keep in mind that upgrading magic and common gear is not always worth the cost. Rare and unique equipment will quickly surpass upgraded magic and common gear.
Cost
The player must spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost to upgrade an item depends on the item's current status and the type of upgrade. Upgrades to weapons are generally cheaper than upgrades for armor since weapons have less requirements. The amount of Gold required to upgrade an item increases when the item is upgraded to the next level.

An upgraded item will also have increased stats, which can improve its performance in many ways. This could include boosting its attack power or critical strike chance. An upgraded item may also give additional bonuses to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades can be used for a number of reasons such as to increase the overall power of an individual or group unit. They can also have a major impact on gameplay.
The items can be upgraded at any NPC that is an upgrader in the game. In general, these NPCs are located in capital cities or major questing locations. Players can also find item upgrader s in dungeons that have high-level bosses, or by talking to NPCs in their faction's garrisons.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players improve the quality of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is very similar to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however, instead of using the currency that is appropriate, players must visit an NPC to upgrade their items to complete the process.
Upgrades to items can be expensive, particularly when it concerns armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path you select, each level increase will cost Crests or Valorstones. The costs are prohibitive for those who don't have the money or are unwilling to grind.
Fortunately the game allows players to reroll an upgraded item with a special tool in the menu for items. This option replaces the upgraded item with the level 1 version which has different bonus effects. This can be useful to get better scores on items that have already been upgraded, but could be a waste of money.
Requirements
The process of upgrading equippable items like weapons, armor and trinkets is to increase the level of the item. This improves their power and makes them more effective in combat. Players can upgrade gear by spending appropriate currencies at a NPC who sells upgrades for items. Players should be aware of the fact that some upgrades require special requirements.
Initial upgrades only boost the stats of the base item by one level. Later upgrades offer more significant enhancements. For instance, upgrading a weapon from three to level six will boost the weapon's damage by two levels. In addition the upgraded item will receive a bonus stat, which is based on the tier it's in. The bonus is a combination of a guaranteed extra substat and a random statistic that will change in value from upgrade to upgrade.
Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item which has been upgraded. The new item will have an additional set of bonuses, as well as a lower level of base item. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to note that the rerolled item will not have its original level or any wasted resource.
Rerolling some upgraded items is only possible if the item was upgraded was an Epic Rare, Rare, or Unique. Exceptional items can also be eligible for rerolling, but their original stats will be replaced with a flat bonus. This means that rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a normal version of the same kind, while rerolling an Epic item will result in an elite version of the same kind.
An upgraded item may also include additional modifiers that can increase the stats of the item and boost its performance. These additional modifiers do not come with the upgrade price. They can be acquired through the questing process, purchasing them from the Trading Post or from other players. They can be earned through fulfilling specific missions in the game.
To upgrade an equipment piece it is necessary to visit the NPC [Armorto upgrade an item, visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. Depending on the kind of item, you will need one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is droppable from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 12 can be obtained from Bosses). Additionally, you will require different amounts of Minerals and Erons.
Time
Item upgrades are a way to increase your gear and ship stats without the need to upgrade them. While upgrading isn't expensive, it is a good way to improve your stats without having to spend as much time in combat. It's important to know the benefits and costs prior to making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade increases the stats of the item by to a certain extent and also offers the chance of obtaining a bonus substat. The extra substat is random and may range from a small increase in one statistic to a larger increase in another. It is recommended to concentrate on the top-performing items in your slot first, since they will give you a bigger return on your investment.
You can view the amount of time needed to complete an upgrade when you open your inventory and select the weapon, ship or other accessory. The upgrade window will then display the progress and expected completion time. In some cases you may be able speed up the process of upgrading by applying a Glyph.
It is also possible to recover certain or all of the upgrade components from an item by using a special high-tier salvage kit that is sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. This is not the case for legendary equipment or upgrades that can be recovered using an Upgrade extractor or by reclaiming with the corresponding Karma merchant.
Rewards
The upgrading of items provides players with currency and a range of items. Each upgrade also has the chance of granting an unspecified stat bonus. The amount of bonus awarded is different for every upgrade, and is usually higher for items that are rarer. The players can perform a Great Vault search to see whether an item can be upgraded prior to spending tickets. The search can help determine whether the item is of a specific tier and whether the player would benefit by a particular upgrade.
During the upgrade, an item will slowly grow closer to the next level, but it is not always able to reach its maximum upgrade bar. This process is based on Growthstones and Sollant but there is a 10% chance of obtaining a fully upgraded item after just one cycle. The more levels that an item gains the more stat value will be, and the more items that can be upgraded.
Upgrade components can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an attribute bonus or extra effect while the equipment is being used. Certain upgrade components can be equipped with additional cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Players can also recover upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high-tier salvage kit. Glyphs that are positioned on gathering tools are able to be swapped.
A player can reroll an item into another upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button an arrow that indicates reroll. This will change the layout of the item's window and allow players to select up to six items to "recycle". The item that is recycled can be exchanged for an item of level 1 of the same kind. Rerolled items will not retain their status, nor will the resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by its tier and quality. Uncommon items can be upgraded up to the maximum level of six while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded up to level nine. Item upgrades are added to the base statistics of the item which means that they do not increase after a certain point.
